Certainly the only constant in life is change, and when you depend on the weather as much as we do – we monitor it almost hourly – the consistency of change is rudely enforced. With our scheduled departure date this morning, the weather gods gave us a sendoff with some rain and wind; a departure from the very calm, clear weather of the past few days. As we headed across the mouth of the bay memories of the trip from Las Calderas filled my mind. Remember, that was not a pleasant trip for me! The ship was bucking pretty good and the wind whipped the tops of the waves into a white froth. By the time we arrived off of Miches, there was quite a black wall southeast of us and the wind was still strong, Amazingly though, Domingo reported visibility of around 5 to 6 feet as the cable lines were all set by dark. That’s the best viz we have had in months, so tomorrow we are back at it hoping the viz holds and the rainstorms tonight don’t bring the mud from the hills. There is quite a stream of moisture stretching all the way back past Cuba, but the ridge of low humidity appears to be bubbling north and if that happens, we are in for a stretch of dry weather – unless it changes!
Well hello, any new report. Hows the weather been? and how about visibility? Hope things are progressing well and all are safe and happy. Keep us informed.
